I remember watching one of the episodes for 17 kids and counting 3 years ago. That was the first time I saw or heard of the Duggers.

I saw my first episode (which was "14 Children & Pregnant Again") when I was newly married and pregnant with my first child. It was a few years before I came across the Duggars again and now I love the shows, try and glean as much advice as I can from them, and have read and re-read their books.

I was having a holiday at a beach in australia and my mum was reading magazine and she called me over to have a look at the duggars this is when they only had 16 children.

I have known about the Duggars from their very first TV appearance--when they only had 14 kids. I really didn't understand it then, but I definitely do now that I have two blessings of my own and one on the way!

I just want tell you what an inspiration your family is to me. I realize you have a lot of children and it isn't for everyone. I really get upset when people criticise your decision to continue having children. I'm not sure if they've watched the show, but you clearly are able provide, love them, and raise them to be wonderful people. There are so many other parents who can't do any of that for their single child. So I reallly can't understand what there is to be upset about. As a Christian mom of a 10 month old son, your family is truly an.inspiration. I pray I will be able to parent my children with as much love and grace as you do. And I know the reason you have such an amazing family is because God is the center of it.

I read a small article about your family in the newspaper several years ago. My daughter always told people she wanted to have 18 kids and people would laugh at her. A friend cut out the article and gave it to us. I think at that time you had 15 kids.
