Whether traveling by plane, train, or automobile, motion sickness runs in the Duggar family. Many fans have asked what specific products they use to counter motion sickness, and we have the answers!
Have you ever seen Michelle distributing what looks like bracelets to the children as they board the bus for a road trip? Those are called Sea-Bands, non-invasive wrist bands that help prevent nausea. To purchase, check your local pharmacy, or search for Sea-Bands on Amazon.
The second product that the Duggars use for motion sickness is Bonine, an over-the-counter, chewable medication. To find a store near you that caries Bonine, click here.

I am a victim to motion sickness - but I just tolerate it! (What a bad idea!) I'll be sure to keep my eyes open for those preventives/medication/etc!
Thanks for sharing:)
Dramamine - the formula that does not cause sleepiness. Works great! I never understood why the Duggars didn't give it to the kids (you break the tiny pill in half, per the instructions) instead of showing them on all those episodes getting sick in planes, busses and vans.
Thank-you for that info. I saw that they had bands, but I didn't know what they were called. I have a terrible time at theme parks and on airplanes. I also can't read in a car but other than that I'm fine in the car. This is a new development for me - it seems to have shown up in my 30's .
I will try these sea bands next time I go to an amusement park and see if they work for those rides!
I have used the seasick bands that the Duggars use to prevent motion sickness when I was fishing a lot, but I always keep a supply of salty crackers or chips or some kind and that seems to work too. And I learned that if you keep looking around and don't stare at one item that also helps. As a child I used to sit on the floor of a car when my head of the seat to help too. Hope some of these ideas will help the Duggars.
I saw Michelle use the Sea-band wrist bands last season and got some for christmas! I also use bonine :) I get motion sick just as bad as the Duggars. So I always carry those with me!
Sit on a paper grocery bag - sounds wierd, but works amazingly on planes and travel buses. It got me to Ireland and back, including 14 days of bus travel.
I fly alot on small airplanes, and though I'm usually fine, a bumpy ride will do me in!
I've found the best relief from an electronic-impulse band that works on the same principle as the sea bands, but also uses a little electric currant. It also helped me a ton with the morning sickness I had during my twin pregnancies. They are spendy, but re-usable and work great - I don't even feel the slightest bit sick. It is strange to think that a little tingle in your wrist does that, but for me it works better than Dramamine and without drowsiness.
