Babies, Babies, Babies!

Jana and Jill are studying under certified professional midwife Venessa Giron on the birthing team of A Mommy's Butterfly Midwifery. Venessa graciously gave us permission to share these photos of some of the babies Jana and Jill have helped deliver:

I pray for you two for your Duggar obsession and pray to God for you to use your talents elsewhere. I love the Duggars, but they do not require you to or have not asked you to have this web site to my knowledge, unless you are bluffing all of us and are not telling us something and the Duggars are paying you. I see this as an obsession. If you are true followers of the gospel, you will lend your talents to that and not being obsessed with one family in the entire world of God. They are but one family out of billions that walk this earth.

I want to become a midwife or doula! what free doula courses could I take online?

Anonymous said...

Does Vanessa Giron have a blog that teaches midwifery?

Suturing workshop is at their church. Guess that building really gets put to work.

i was wondering the same thing...or maybe they are clip ons

Anonymous said...

none of the older girls have their ears pierced. they're just clip-ons. :)

Hey Anon at 2:17 am, leave Lily and Ellie alone. What they're doing is to keep fan us up to date on the Duggar family. It's not an obsession. Thanks Lily and Ellie! Beautiful pics!

i really do not think I would use them at all. They are not credit by any state agency or have any schooling under their belt to do it on their own. What if they had to perfom a c section they cannot do that. Sorry they are nice Godly girl but they need to go to school and learn and get state cerfitied.

I LOVE the ones where Jill is holding both babies and where the 2 moms where there too!!!

@ anonymous 10:22am

I have noticed that you have asked on multiple posts about free courses to take to become a midwife/doula. Good for you for taking an interest in such a rewarding field.

Unfortunately, there won't be any free courses offered anywhere for you to become certified and trained in this field. Becoming a doula or a midwife requires far more training and education that cannot be offered for free and the experience required definitely cannot be learned solely online.

If you are truly interested in pursuing midwifery (or in becoming a doula) you would be best advised to contact some people currently practicing in your immediate area. They may be kind enough to offer some counselling and guidance to help you achieve your goals. If you are very lucky you may be invited to shadow a midwife to gain a bit of experience to help you decide if you are truly serious in pursuing this field further. If you seriously would like to study you could get some sort of financial aid to help you achieve your goals. Best of luck to you

Anon 10:22/23, ou really can't learn Midwifery online...think about it, would you want a primary caregiver that only took courses over the internet? You can, however take some basic pre-requisites--I would recommend an online Anatomy and Physiology class to start, which you can easily find through your local community college.
You can also view a free into to A course from US Berkeley online--you won't get credit for it, but it might be a good start and work as a nice pre-class study if you enroll in a class and/or midwifery program:

Spreading the Word of God as it is lived is an encouragement to others who seek Godly examples for their own lives. These young ladies are truly blessed as they share God's Work in the lives of the Duggars. The popularity and continuity of this blog are proof that this activity is guided by God Himself. God is so good that, I suspect, He even allows these women to enjoy this task!

Thank you lily and ellie for doing this web site and for keeping us up to date on a Christian family. Please don't let others rudeness influence you. Instead pray for them.

jill looks diffrent!

No midwife can perform a c- section..if that were the case the mother would have to be taken to a hospital for delivery. They are being trained wonderfully, and the best experience is hands on..i am a mother of 10 and one on the way..if i lived closer to them,i would aure utilize heir services. Good luck girls!

To the first commentor, I understand where you are coming from, but we don't know what amount of time is spent on this blog and we know nothing about their personal lives. There is nothing wrong with a hobby as long as it does not control your life and relationships etc. so please be careful with what you say, no one is perfect and be careful about picking out a speck in their eye when you cannot see the log in your own eye.
Blessings to you.

Such a great profession, so happy for her and Jana! :)

as you can see they do not work in a hospital setting so we know that they probably would not beable to do that. Hope they do take the next step. God bless them. And I am not picking on them. My point being go to the next level and learn but somehow they would.

Jill looks different!!!! I love the second one....so funny I think Jill is called to be a midwife but Jana is not.?? and I love all the babies!!! I am wanting to be a midwife someday jill and jana are just so beautiful..

Lily and Ellie,
Do you know how old the Duggar girl's are allowed to wear makeup I know they wear it just what age...

Talia renee said...

U go girls! Most of us really appreciate you. The average person would not hav the access to all the pics and info that they do, i believe the Duggars are grateful for the girls help, we all know how extremely busy they are. Thankyou and Godspeed!

Mmolesy said...

Alexia, in one of the duggar episodes Michelle said the girls didnt want the camera crew finding them without make up on or hair done, because they were older than 12. So I assume they have to be at least 12.

serin said...

I pray the first poster find peace with God and not assume he or she knows everything from a few posts. If the Duggers or TLC had issue with this blog, they would have issued a cease and desist letter and that would have been the end of it all.

serin said...

@Anonymous I think the fact they are studying under a certified person would count for them to get their certification. A C-Section can only be performed by a doctor. Mid-wives cannot perform this act.

Mmolesy said...

Alexia, I believe the episode was 'a tale of two Duggars' . Around the age of 11or 12 is when they take a child out (Michelle takes a girl, Jimbob a boy) and they tell them about the birds and the bee's. Michelle gives her girls a special kit to welcome her into womanhood. And that usually contains Chapstick, perfume, makeup etc..

Articles like this one make the Duggars seem so horribly vain, like they are the only family on the entire face of the entire earth to look up to.

Stephanie from Virginia said...

On MichellesParentables when Jana and Jill write comments, Jill references A 14 year old "friend" who she coached through labor. That story sounds fishy. Since when do they have friends that aren't siblings? Since when do they have friends that are sexually active at age 14? Why haven't we heard about any of this?

Anonymous said...

Ha! you wouldnt be saying that if you had talked to them one on one. ive talked to them for at least a total of 3hours and they were incredibly humble. They even insisted on calling us at our house in Australia and wouldnt take no for an answer. A call i believe would of cost them quite a bit.

Mmolesy said...

Maybe we havent been told the details of the circumstances because its none of our business. And yes, they have friends outside the family. For all we know this girl may of gone thru a rough patch in her life and gotten pregnant out of wedlock, then repented and turned back to God. once a person repents, Christians have no right to bring up the persons past. unless they continue to live in sin. Jill may have chosen to support her if this was the circumstance. We don't know the details, and have no right to. What would you do with the info anyway? that kind of info is only useful if the intention is to use it in a malicious way.

Anonymous said...

I personally think it is very off that Jill knows a 14-year-old who had a baby. I did not think that the Duggars would want to associate with people like that.

Mmolesy said...

Funny you should say that. but Jesus himself hung out with social outcastsand others that were shunned. why? because their hearts were receptive to his words. Whereas the religious leaders of the day thought they were just fine and thought they didnt need him. But in actual fact their hearts were corrupt. iso sorry. but i disagree.

Good on you girls! Lovely images and a very noble profession! I have 6 children and I used to want to be a midwife. I think it is a wonderful profession.

FYI--There are two types of midwives--those who are Nurse Midwives (completed nursing school, & Midwifery Training), and Lay Midwives (those who have completed Midwifery training and may or may not be certified), depending on the laws of the state they are in.

I had 4 of my 5 children born at home and have used both. My 1st home-birth was with a Lay Midwife, who was NOT licensed, and I later found out 'after the fact" was actually illegal in the state of California (in 1980). My 2nd home birth was also in the state of California, but was performed by a licensed Nurse Midwife. The 3rd & 4th were born in the state of Oregon with a licensed Lay Midwife who was studying to become a Nurse Midwife. They were all very capable, and in fact, the 1st one had quite a history of home births with a group of other 'practiced' midwives, however, I found out later, that they were arrested after a home birth, that ran into problems (not because of their care, but because sometimes births run into problems). I don't know what the laws are in California now, or what they are in the state where the Duggar girls practice, but I DO know that most midwives go through a thorough training that also includes a lot of hands on training with well experienced (& most likely licensed) midwife.

This family is a blessing, just like any one of ours is! I hope you all that find them or these women a problem or discomforting to your hearts, May you find peace and love in your hearts.

The 14 year old pregnant girl may have been in South America. The do work there from time to time and even if not, it is also possible, that the poor girl had been raped, so non of her fault at all. But, as others already said: it really isn't any of our business..

WOW!!! thats cool Jill and Jana are doing midwifery!

Midwifes don't do c-sections.

God bless all those that give from their hearts to help and support midwifery! May God continue to bless your family, Jana and Jill. Nothing that we do or say goes unseen in the eyes of God. It has been a wonderful blessing to watch the Duggar's family on Netflix, and have enjoyed the happiest moments and sad news with your family. Yes, it has been a ministry and a positive influence to my family, and only pray the very best to you and yours! Thank you~

No one has the right to judge anyone but GOD AND TO LEAVE RUDE COMMENTS YOU NEED TO GET YOURSELF RIGHT WITH GOD YOURSELF. When doing their midwife duties they are watched by PROFESSIONALS and not alone. They are being tought. No one knows what education they are getting and could just be seeing if this is what they want to do in life. NO ONE WHO IS CHRISTIAN TURNS THEIR BACK ON SOMEBODY THAT NEEDS HELP WETHER 14 and pregnant and not a Christian Jesus helped all he could even a prostitute and she asked for forgiveness and followed him until his end. These girls are doing gods work and having fun to. They are wonderful role models for any child an adult.d. If you have negative things to say about these wonderful girls and complain about them, then why come here or watch their show at all. You have issues with yourself. Prayers for all the Duggers in your journeys ahead. Michelle you have done miracles raising your kids with so much love. I pray others learn from it. People forget all they do for people and if a neighbor reached out and they didn't respond there were good reasons. They are very busy with their life. And maybe didn't get the MSG. Quit judging and just enjoy watching a wonderful family working hard at life and spreading the word of god and Jesus. Judge yourself before you judge others, you are not perfect in any way and had your own faults. Love you guys. I wish you the best if there's a new baby to come. To all the kids your wonderful always helping in the family and loving eachother. GOD BLESS
