I like how supportive the family is of Rick Santorum he seems to have great values and morals and a love for life and children! I don't agree with his views on gay marriage because I am for gay marriage because its not for the government to choose how to grown adults choice to marry! I agree with him on abortion though and special need children!

You have got to be kidding me!!! Who in their right mind would let all their children go off on a bus to one state and then themselves to DC. I am soo totally freaked out!! These parents are getting more and more self centered. I am sure that is what money, fame and tv is going to do to this family. It is too bad. I have been pretty bummed about how these guys have been displaying lately, but this tops the cake. They are not anywhere near done rearing their children, but they are acting like they don't even need to do their job anymore. I am beginning to think they are just heading off on their own lately to see if they can add another "counting" and who cares about the rest of the kids--let them fend for themselves and/or let TLC babysit them. I am feeling pretty pathetic about this and would only continue watching out of sadness to see if they ever start acting like family really is most important rather then just preaching it lately. I recently saw a clip with a group of the kids getting up at 4 am and heading out on a couple hours drive to a voice of the martyrs and looked like they all had to fend for themselves to get up and go and those were middle aged kids-didn't even know where they were going??? I was rather upset there and couldn't imagine what parent would do that and NOW THIS!! CRAZY!

Hi Anonymous (at 7:00 PM),

The footage of Jana hugging Jill was taken when Jana and John-David returned from their 2010 mission trip to Asia. The ring you saw was most likely Jana's purity ring.

Ditto, Paula. Ditto. I think this family has it down pat HOW to have children; I think they need to go to Parenting 101 to know how to PARENT them.

The neat thing about the Duggars is that the parents may travel away from the kids for the weekend, but they also come home. They are there for their children.

They are doing a lot of things right with the raising of their children. Parents who love their kids can take trips away from their children. For example, when I was quite young (about 3), mine left my siblings and me to the care of my grandparents and aunt and uncle while they were out of the country for a few weeks. While they were away, my parents had prepared a gift that we would open each day that they were gone. What sets the Duggars and my parents apart from many parents who don't care for their children, is that they always return home. Neither Jim Bob or Michelle has ever walked out on their family.

Who in their right minds support Santorum? He recently told a mother of a boy with schizo if he can buy $900 ipads he can afford medicine. This boy may not even have an ipad or care about buying one. Talking about leaving kids by themselves you get in trouble for that around here. Last week two women left several children in the care of an eight and nine year old and they were only gone to a bar. U don't care if it is out of the country. Leaving that many kids alone isn't good neven if younger adult siblings are present.

While I most certainly agree the Duggars are to be applauded to stand behind the Presidential candidate they feel most meets their personal beliefs, I do not agree that a family with infants, school-age children, etc. should be traipsing the U.S. campaigning for a political cause when the children should be in the care of their own mother and father and they should regularly be in school (and I don't mean on a "school bus"). Other families would most certainly be called out by DFAS for doing so and would be investigated as a cult injuring minor children. Maybe DFAS needs to look at the Duggar way of doing things. Also, religion cannot dictate American policy. For example, the issue of birth control--if we outlaw insurance coverage for birth control based on Catholic religious beliefs, then we must also outlaw blood transfusions because this is against the beliefs of Jehovah's Witnesses...justice and liberty for all...not justice and liberty to those that believe this and that. What about fertility treatments and treatments to prevent miscarriage? My religion says that all life is created by God and my religion believes, as there are barren women in the Bible, that all women are not ordained to have children. So...we should also outlaw insurance coverage for fertility treatments, etc. The list could go on and on and on. (What about the protection of those that don't, because of religious beliefs, believe in medical intervention at all? Should be just ban insurance based on that religion?) Now we are talking about insurance based on religious beliefs. The weakness Santorum has is looking at the world from his own personal point of view. Please, please, Duggars and Santorum, read the Classic book "Animal Farm." Please read it. The podium the President of the United States stands behind is not one based on one's own personal beliefs...it is based on liberty and justice for all.

If you'll pay attention to the Duggar "kids" ages, when referring to the oldest, they're not children at all. Josh is even a husband and father. Having John, Joseph, Jill, Jessa, Jana, Josh, AND Anna makes it QUITE possible to not only have adequate child care, but it makes it a fun family adventure. Other families - most for that matter - have kids doing so much extracurricular activities that they barely even eat dinner with their parents. The Duggars are VERY blessed to have all their kids' quality time 24/7 which makes it MUCH easier to have a REALLY good family.
