Night Owls Duggars

Have you ever seen the Duggars between 5:00AM and 8:00AM? If you have, you know that they are not morning people. So what's the opposite of a morning person? I'll give you a hint: Hoooot, Hooooot.
"We aren't morning people," explains Jessa. "We just haven't grown up that way; our parents are both night owls."
"We get our energy at about 9:00 at night -- we're ready to go!" says Michelle. "We have like another 4 or 5 hours under our belt. But the mornings then, of course, are a little bit later. For us, 7:00 is early."

Are you a morning person, a nigh owl, or somewhere in between?

  1. I'm with you, Duggars... I am totally a night owl! I have to get up at 6am to be at work by 8:00, and I'm always miserable. At night, I come alive and then have to try to force myself to get to sleep at a reasonable hour so I can get up for work the next morning. It's a constant struggle! The weird thing is that I was always a morning person from birth until about 5 years ago (age 30). Then, it completely changed!

  2. I"m a night owl too! In a MAJOR way! My bedtime is 10pm, but I go to bed between 2pm and 5am! It's a good thing I am a wedding and family photographer and can set my own schedule because otherwise I would be dying working an 8-5 job!

I always wondered when the Duggars went to bed! Esp the kids!

  3. I get so tickled see the Duggars try to get up at 7, especially the little ones.

I am a night owl from a family of night owls. When I was in college I used to get off work at 1 AM and then start homework. I married an early bird. It took me years to retrain myself, but I did. I had to: I married an early bird and 3 of my 4 children are early birds. Of course, I think that if I had the opportunity I could go right back to living the night owl life.

Don't the Duggars start family altar something like 8:30. LOL, my early-to-bed-early-to-rise family is in bed by that time. Isn't it neat how families can be so different?

  4. Definately a night owl. So glad when I retired and didn't have to hide the fact that I was a zombie at work from 8 am to 10 am. I wonder if it has anything to do with the time a person was born? I was born in the wee hours of the morning and have been a night owl from birth, too.

  5. I am so thankful to hear this as someone who is constantly being told (as an adult) I should go to bed so I can get up with my children. I stay up until 2 or 3 and wake at 10:30. Much of that is school planning but it's when I have uninterrupted time to work. I only have 3 children but hope for more. You have been such an encouragement to me as a Christian, homeschooling mother, I want to award you with the One Lovely Blog Award.

  7. Even night owl probably doesn't describe me! 'Night shift' might be better! I went to bed at 6am preparing a project for a science fair once, and its not unusual for me to go to bed between 1 - 4am, although being in NZ, its starting to get light earlier, so i'm trying to get to bed early enough that i can get to sleep BEFORE the birds all start singing and it gets light!
A couple of times i've still been awake at 7:30am or later! and gotten up about 4pm....
    lol anyway...
