Review/Variation:
This ice cream cake definitely gets 5 Stars. We made an ice cream cake just today but decided to do something a little different. We did 1 layer of ice cream sandwiches, 1 layer of Breyer's Dark Chocolate ice cream (sooooooo good!), 1 layer of crushed graham crackers, another layer of Breyer's Dark Chocolate, and then 1 layer of Breyer's Reese's Peanut Butter Cups ice cream. That was delicious!

  2. That's a pretty versatile recipe. Lots of room to play around with it. I may have to try making it using Oreo Klondikes (*drool*).

    Hi Anonymous,

Graham crackers are sweet crackers that come in rectangles and are a popular snack food in the United States.

We do have cherry Coke in North America, as well as many other flavors of Coke. :)

    Thanks for reading!

  8. taking your base idea and just thought i would throw it out there though mine is much smaller. i'm doing a chocolate brownie (no nuts) with a layer of strawberry preserves on top with the ice cream sandwiches then cool whip's chocolate frosting. piped around the outside to hide the edges of the pan and some decorative work. thought i would share the take on your families recipe. thanks for the base idea - Laura

  12. This is what I do. 9X13 dish spread crushed oreos to cover bottom. Then melt 1 stick butter pour over crushed oreos. Big tablespoon spoon out vanilla ice cream all over oreos. Then drizzle chocolate syrup all over ice cream. Then sprinkle a few dry roasted peanuts and freeze for a few hours.

  14. I used this recipe as a outline and omitted the candy as I hate peanut butter. I did mine with the ice cream sandwiches, then a layer of chocolate ice cream to fill in the gaps , then cool whip, then caramel and chocolate sauce, then sandwiches, chocolate ice cream, cool whip and top off with the chocolate and caramel sauces. I will use sprinkles or crushed Oreos on top and have used chocolate Oreo ice cream. It's sooooooo good!!!!!!

  16. This is my favorite Duggar recipe. I make it for all family special occasions.. If there is a smaller group I put five sandwiches on the bottom and then on top. My niece loves choclate chip mint and I found choclate chip mint sandwiches. She loved it.
